How to Change an Image’s Size Dimensions

            Quick Steps

            1. Click the Edit link under the image's section to be taken to the Image Editor. Remove the sample image by clicking the trash can icon in the Layers window.
            2. Click the "Open" button, select the option Upload From Computer, then find and upload your chosen image.
            3. Select Resize from the sidebar and change the image's width to 580 px. Click the Resize button when you're done.
            4. Click "Save" and you will exit the Image Editor.
            5. Type in the image's new size in the Dimension field and save your changes.

            Tutorial Guide

In this tutorial, you will learn how to adjust an image slice's dimensions so it can fit a slightly larger image, like a floor plan.

As stated in our other Resize Image tutorial, an image will usually be automatically cropped and resized to fit an image slice’s size constraints. However, if an image is too large, it will be cropped according to the size dimensions in its respective field.

By using the Image Editor, you can make sure that your images are not only sized to fit the email, but display the whole image proportionately.

            Step 1:

Instead of clicking the "Replace" button, click the Edit link to be taken to the Image Editor. The sample image will appear in the editing area, but it can be removed by clicking the trash can icon under the Layers window.

            Step 2:

Click the "Open" button, and if your floor plan is on your desktop, select the option Upload From Computer. Once you find your floor plan image and click “Open”, your image will automatically upload into the editing area.

            Step 3:

Select the Resize option and change the floor plan image’s width to be 580px (do not worry about the height). Make sure that the checkbox next to “Maintain Aspect Ratio” is checked, and click the "Resize" button once you are done. Keep the newly resized dimensions for your floor plan image in mind.

            Step 4:

Click the "Save" button on the top right corner of the window, and you will automatically exit the Image Editor. The floor plan image will replace the placeholder image. However, you may see that it might be slightly distorted.

            Step 5:

Under the floor plan image’s Dimension field, change the dimensions to the newly resized dimensions and click the "Save Changes" button when you are done. Your floor plan image should look much more proportionate.

This can also apply to your other images, especially if their width fits within the image dimensions, but their height is too short or long. Just make sure that you know the image’s correct dimensions.

That covers how you can easily change an image’s dimensions in order to make sure an image is not either extremely compressed or stretched.
